Living my best life with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Part 1

Back in the days my life was copacetic.  Playing sports in highschool (basketball, volleyball and track), belonging to a dance group (Ebony), having friends that were more like my family, there was nothing to complain about.  When I graduated highschool...started college... graduated with a Legal Assistant Diploma I was ready to start life as a young adult.  But little did I know that I'd be hit with a ton of bricks 🧱 that would drastic change my life and things would never be the same as it was.

Everyday is a different day for most but for someone managing Multiple Sclerosis (MS) it's not as easy as it sounds.  I was diagnosed back in '98 and have been persevering ever since and with no cure in sight I will continue to persevere.💪🏾

Life became challenging as everyday tasks (getting out of bed, taking a shower, cooking/cleaning, watching t.v or talking on the phone), that were a breeze to carry out became very taxing, leaving me to feel weary almost daily.

Having to take different medications via needles over the years to help control MS flare-ups, I decided to look into natural alternatives to support me through the days that were complicated and will continue to be complicated. With taking my MS medication sometimes the side effects felt worse than the actual MS so bringing natural alternatives into play sounded like an outstanding plan.

Paulene - Owner of PMJ² Infused Wellness

So I began looking into different singles/blends of essential oils (EOs) to find their natural benefits and with doing so I started making products infused with EOs like Achy Muscle Rub, Pillow Mist, Travel Size Hand Lotion and Headache Relief Roll-On and named my brand PMJ² Infused Wellness.  I use these products to work through my MS symptoms and sell to other interested MS Warriors I'm in contact with.

Before I jump into the natural remedies I use, first let me mention that all MS Warriors are different as there are four different stages of MS, 1st - Clinically Isolated Syndrome (CIS), 2nd -  Relapsing-remitting(RRMS)🙋🏾‍♀️, 3rd -  Secondary-progressive(SPMS) and 4th -  Primary-progressive(PPMS), so keep that in mind as you begin to make sense of my journey with MS.

Where do I start, my first natural remedy I fell in love with was peppermint essential oil that helps me get through the hot days of summer or a summer family trip.  Menthol which is found in peppermint essential oil, is a cooling agent so I use it and make cooling mists spray bottles when I venture outside.  I would add a few drops, 1 to 5, to a spray bottle of cold water, remember oil floats on water so make sure you put the esstential oil (EO) in first then add the water.  Some MS Warriors have to deal with heat intolerance 🙋🏾‍♀️ so with the help of peppermint EO you can stay cool.

Here's another tip about peppermint essential oil, it also helps with hot flashes.🥵

Check back in a couple of weeks, and I'll share another natural alternative tip that helps me manage the symptoms that come with managing MS.
